Dr. Joyce Hunt Brown has struggled with health problems and a desire to end her life from a young age. Her health declined to where she was mostly bedridden and barely able to walk. Desiring to die, she passed suddenly to the other side and discovered that her desire to end her life did not bring her the peace and bliss for which Joyce had hoped. In her NDE, Joyce also saw the cause of her drastic decline in health, corrected it, and had a rapid recovery, although she still struggles with many health issues.

In her NDE, Joyce saw how suicidal thoughts and attitudes regarding suicide can cause great harm and focuses now on helping people understand and avoid those dangers.
